Laurie has a bachelor's degree in biochemistry from Elmira College in Elmira, NY as well as a Master of Science degree in Biochemical Research from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. She worked for over 20 years in scientific research in both academia and pharmaceutical settings.

In addition to performing complex experiments in molecular biology, Laurie has extensive experience in laboratory set-up and maintenance, project management and customer service.
